I’m starting a blog — and something else

Those of you who know me well, (and let’s face it, most of you reading this know me well), know that I used to be an editor for a weekly newspaper in western Nebraska before taking a job as a communications coordinator for a hospital in the state’s capital city.

I loved my job as an editor and reporter for the Gering Courier and the Scottsbluff Star-Herald respectively, but it was time for a change as I started to burn out - which is a very common thing in the news industry unfortunately.

However, while I don’t miss being constantly exhausted mentally and socially, I do miss telling stories, and giving miniature life updates and lessons learned in my weekly column. So I asked myself, why should I give up all that up just because I have a different job? I decided I didn’t have to, hence this blog.

Now, this blog won’t be anything flashy or fancy, and it will likely serve as a kind of weekly diary that's out in the open for anyone to read. However, maybe there will be something you can get out of it. I guess you have to keep reading each weekly post to find out!

With that said, it’s clear that I have found an outlet for my desire to share life lessons I learn every week, but you may be wondering how I am going to get my fix for telling stories. Well, I have another

big announcement.

I’m excited to announce …

That my big announcement is not ready to be shared publicly quite yet. Sorry for misleading you and for the clickbait-y blog post title. But I do want to put a bug in your ear that I’m working on a passion project that I’m super excited to share once it gets closer to being ready.

So keep your eyes peeled for new content from me, as I’ll be posting hints leading up to the reveal, and then even more content to promote the launch.

Oh no, I said too much already.

Thanks to everyone who continues to support me in what I do and strive toward. I wouldn’t have the courage to pursue this blog, and my other passion project, without you.
